You Oughta Know About...

Happy Saturday friends! I'm excited to join Jasmine again from Buzzing With Mrs. McClain for another month of...
This month I think you oughta know about VolunteerSpot. I have a fabulous group of techified parents this year, and use VolunteerSpot to organize Friday afternoon help.

Creating a free account is easy. Simply click on create new sign up when you're ready to begin.

Customize the sign up to best fit your needs. I need Friday afternoon help, so I always choose multiple days. I choose not to have participants see who else has signed up.

Enter your information and what information you want from parents.

Now you're ready to create dates and times.

You're able to add new "spots" to whatever dates you choose.

At this stage, you're now ready to invite participants in a variety of ways.

I've always preferred a shareable link that can be sent in an email.

Another great feature of Volunteer Spot is choosing what updates you receive and how often. Participants can get a reminder email when it's close to their volunteer sign up date.

Five for Friday

TGIF!! What a jam packed week it's been. I haven't linked up with a Five for Friday post with Doodle Bugs Teaching in a while, so here we go!

Monday was staff development in my district, and I did my first solo presentation! I was all kinds of antsy/nervous/excited. I received a nice email and a sweet compliment on Instagram from someone who attended one of my sessions.

I went to the Mavericks game Wednesday night with a friend who got me floor seats for Christmas! Sadly the Pistons won, but at least I was close enough to see all the action and get a pic with one of the Maniaacs after the game.

Have you seen the new student bag idea on Pinterest? I prepared a couple back in August, and let me tell you it was a huge time saver when I got a new student Tuesday.

The sweet person in front of me at Starbucks this morning paid for my Friday treat! Caramel apple spice with extra whip and a chocolate croissant, delicious.

It's too cold for me outside, so my weekend will consist mostly of Netflix. I started watching House of Cards and I'm hooked!

January Currently

Happy New Year everyone! I hope y'all had a great time with NYE festivities last night. I'm not a party animal by any means, but I didn't go to bed until almost 3:30 in the morning! Needless to say I slept in. It's time for some currently fun with Farley.
Hello 2015!
Listening- Braxton Family Values is currently on. Tamar is such a spotlight diva!
Loving- My goal was to finish up a few Tpt projects I had in the works, mission accomplished! All that's left is to secure and upload which will wait until tomorrow.
Thinking- I'm looking forward to all that 2015 has to offer me! The 5th of this month I'll be a presenter for my district's staff development. In June I'm going to Disney World with a teacher friend for EdCamp Magic!! (It's free to attend and tickets are still available so hurry!) And.... I've been browsing the seller's forum of Tpt and there's talk already for the conference in Vegas! I will definitely be there in July. I might be shy and not talk much, but I'll be there.
Wanting- A couple of days ago I noticed some sniffles and a stuffy nose. Thankfully I have no fever or cough.
Needing- I need to go to sleep so I wake up on time to take my mom to the airport.
Yes- I want to be better about cooking meals at home. I have a bad habit of constantly going out to eat or ordering food. If anyone has suggestions  for cooking meals for one person I'd love to hear.
Maybe- So far I've participated in six 5k races. I'd love to work up to a 10k and eventually a half marathon. Ok, half marathon is a strong maybe in the distant future.
Wish- I know we just started a new year, but my mom and I have played around with the idea of visiting NYC during Christmas. Maybe this year we can plan and go.
Don't forget to link up and share your currently!
