You Oughta Know for April

Hi friends! It's time for another month of...
Jasmine from buzzing with Mrs. McClain is the genius behind the fabulous blog hop!
I love love LOVE apps that are effective yet easy to use for my classroom. Here are two I currently use during spelling station or word work. (And they're free, hooray!)

How cool is this app? Kids ooh and ahh at how the colors change with each stroke of their finger.
Yes, it's true. Big shocker I know. Ha!
Who's getting excited?!
This app could also be used for math practice. There is an option for work to be printed, but I don't tell my minis that or we'd run out of ink every day. Kids Doodle is available for iPad and Android tablets.
Remember the old school magnetic letters? Magnetic ABC has a free and paid version. The free version comes with letters and different backgrounds to choose from.

The paid version is $1.99 which includes numbers and some other features.

  2. I second the thought on KidsDoodle. My kids like doing neat crafty things and that is not even close to my strong point. I like the creative ideas they have at http://monthbymonth.scholastic.com/create.html. They always go along with my monthly themes and are simple to do/with step-by-step pics.

  3. Thank you so much for sharing these apps! I have a fellow kindergarten teacher who was looking for an app to make words, so I am going to pass along to her the Magnetic ABC app!
